How he asked that all important question…”will you marry me?”…

During the week Doug had suggested that we go to a winery, I had to work on the Saturday so I wasn't really interested and took some convincing because all I could think about was how little time I had left to get all the housework done. When I arrived home from work on the Saturday Doug had cleaned the house from top to bottom (as I later found out.. he had a little help from his family!). I thought to myself, "poor guy, he's done all this.. I probably should go with him to the winery". So on the Sunday, off we went to Bird in Hand. We did a tasting, ate a beautiful cheese platter and then bought quite a few bottles of wine for home (at that stage I was happy to let my hair down). On our way back to the car Doug suggested going for a walk through the vineyard. On our way I spotted row numbers 86 and 87 (the years we were born) and suggested that one. When we were half way down the row, I stopped to take some photos.. "one more" Doug said, and all of a sudden dropped to his knee. I couldn't tell you exactly what he said, all I could think is "what are you doing". I believe these were the first words I said to him. Once it clicked what was happening I instantly said YES (many many times) and began crying. Just as Doug has always done, he exceeded every one of my expectations and created the most perfect day that was truly "us". Prior to that day, I had no idea of how I wanted my engagement to be, but I can now say "that", that was the way I wanted to get engaged, I would not have changed
