HOW THEY MET...
David and I actually met for the first time when he was 18 as I was a friend of the family. We did not see each other for many years after that until his sisters wedding in 2013. We said hello and had a brief chat and moved on. Nothing more was thought nor said, until the dance floor began! We were both on the dance floor and for a moment our eyes locked and a little spark was felt. All of a sudden I thought 'where did this guy come from, he is all grown up now'.
WHEN SHE KNEW HE WAS 'THE ONE'...
When we locked eyes!...this was the moment I knew David was the one! It really couldn't be any better, I knew his whole family so knew he was a good man.
HOW HE ASKED 'WILL YOU MARRY ME?'...
David had a few ideas he told me after on how to propose to me. Originally he wanted to take me back to our first date with a picnic at Mt Barker. Although the weather was not on his side, my 30th birthday was approaching and so this was his second thought. At my 30th birthday I was completely blind sighted as I thought he was just doing a regular speech for my birthday, then all of a sudden he got down on one knee! My whole family roared with excitement and rushed towards us to congratulate us. This was a very memorable moment.
THEIR SPECIAL DAY...
Our wedding was located at my father's beach house at Cape Jervis. This home had been in our family for many years, so it added a nice sentimental touch. I set up a clear marquee so everyone could eat dinner looking out to the ocean.
Weddings can be quite stressful and although I loved every part of it, my favourite part was when all my duties were over and the dance floor started. Everybody got up to dance and it was such a good party. It was so good that I decided not to even leave the dance floor until the night was over. It was such a great atmosphere and I really had the time of my life that day! Now I just love being married and couldn’t have asked for a better person to be with than David.
